Spain is a country that, in my opinion, has it all – rich history, vibrant culture, diverse landscapes, and a passion for living life to the fullest. Oh, and tapas!

My travel experiences in Spain…

Spain has long held a special place in my heart.

My love affair with the country began as a teenager during a two-week family vacation to the Costa Brava, during which we explored coastal towns and villages like Blanes and Calella de Palafrugell, and visited the Dalí Museum in Figueres, Girona.

Since then, I’ve returned over a dozen times, each visit deepening my appreciation for its diverse culture, rich history, and cuisine.

I recently went on a month-long journey through southern Spain, starting in the beautiful city of Seville and exploring the enchanting region of Andalucía. I visited the Moorish palaces of Granada (everyone should experience the Alhambra at least once in their life), relaxed on the beaches of Nerja, and visited the iconic “Pueblos Blancos.”

I also traveled into into Castilla-La Mancha, where I explored the UNESCO World Heritage city of Cuenca, and its famous hanging houses. My journey wrapped up in Catalonia, where I once again immersed myself in Barcelona’s vibrant culture and revisited the scenic Costa Brava, where my love affair with Spain began.

I’ve also visited several of Spain’s islands, including Mallorca in the Balearics and Tenerife in the Canaries. Spain, you have my heart! Can’t wait to return.

  • Transportation Tip – Spain’s high-speed AVE trains are fast, comfortable, and scenic. You can get from Madrid to Seville in under 2.5 hours! I always book ahead with Trainline to compare fares and use mobile tickets with ease.
